Simon Vallee has just released his
debut full length album. This is an Enhanced CD featuring the videos for "Right Where You Want Me" and "Almost Made Us". The Album looks to follow the success of his expressively charged sophomore album So Unclear.
The past EP reached heights rarely
seen by most independent artists. The single “So
Unclear” charted #2 in the
UK for over 30 weeks. The BBC has touted Vallee
(pronounced ‘Valley' ) as one of Canada 's
new gems. American press has praised Simon and MTV
added his UK Tour dates to its featured tours column
at MTV.com. So Unclear has seen its way to the top
10 of a number of online radio stations, a number
#26 on CBC's New Music Canada, and has been featured
on Toronto 's Edge 102.1FM Indie Hour hosted by
Dave Bookman. Vallee and band completed an extensive live schedual last year including a 16 city month long tour of the UK. A trip which garnered even more praise from press and fans (visit press page).
Simon Vallee has written and co-produced
with acclaimed NBC producer, gold and platinum, and 2 time Juno
award winning songwriter Sean Baillie.
Simon's first solo release was forged with Sean and celebrated producer/engineer Darius
Szczepaniak (Sum 41: “Does This Look Infected”
and Metal Works studio master). Since then he has
released 2 albums as a solo artist. Right Where You Want Me was
written and arranged by Vallee and recorded at his
downtown Toronto based Loan Shark studios. After
instrument tracking was complete the album was finished
under the guidance of Sean Baillie at Electric Machine
studios in north Toronto. Simon writes and records
all of his own music. His catalogue includes some
400 written songs, 150 recorded songs and 3 note
worthy albums released to date. He has been the
primary songwriter in several bands and has also
received support from Canada 's FACTOR agency. His
talents have been recognized internationally and
he has the live show to prove it.
Hailing from Toronto Canada Simon originates from Kitchener Ontario. He
has graced the stages of famed venues such as Toronto
's Horseshoe Tavern and the Hard Rock Cafe which
have seen performances from Billy Talent
to the Rolling Stones. Arlene's Grocery in New York
city where REM gave a stirring performance one week
before Simon's last show there. And, the Dry Bar
in Manchester England where Oasis landed a bill
just before they're heroic antics began on a major
scale. Vallee is backed by a 4 piece band. The music
can get in excess of loud or soft and intimate.
Truly a dynamic that is uncharacteristic of today's
new artists. His live performances have been quoted
as “simply stunning” by the BBC.
